John Evans

Azorra’s CEO, John Evans, is responsible for long-term strategic planning and day-to-day operations of Azorra. John boasts a successful track record of industry achievements, key hires, and keen insight to the aviation industry.

Prior to founding Azorra, John was President and CEO of Jetscape Aviation Group (JAG). Founded in 2000, JAG was a commercial aircraft leasing platform focused on the sub-130 seat jet market. JAG also provided commercial aircraft management, remarketing, and advisory services to third-party aircraft owners, investors, financiers and airlines worldwide. Over the course of 16 years, John grew the JAG portfolio to 59 aircraft through a series of mergers, acquisitions, and new-build orders. At the time of its sale in 2016, JAG was one of the largest single movers of Embraer E-Jets.

From 1994 to 1999, John was President and CEO of Indigo Aviation AB (formerly NASDAQ: IAAB). During his tenure, John oversaw a ten-fold growth in revenue, profits, and shareholders’ equity as Indigo matured into one of the world’s largest independent commercial aircraft lessors and established itself as an industry leader. John diversified Indigo’s portfolio and transitioned to modern assets while adhering to disciplined investment criteria. By cultivating a flexible, customer-friendly environment, John dramatically grew Indigo from six aircraft to over 100 valued at over $2 billion. John eventually led Indigo through a merger with AerFi Group plc (which subsequently was acquired by debis AirFinance).

From 1987 to December 1994, John served as Vice President Marketing of International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), concentrating on Europe, the United States and the South Pacific. John facilitated over 175 commercial aircraft lease and remarketing transactions with more than 40 airlines. John was engaged in strategic business planning and negotiating major new aircraft acquisitions to include the then largest placed order for new commercial jet aircraft.
